With UE5 finally released, I've noticed a lot of users are struggling with some wonky shadows in the engine. This video helps shed a bit of light on why that is, and how to fix these problems. Project files : 🤍 In the current release of unreal engine 5 chaos vehicle system, there is a bug that prevent the vehicle moving. This usually happens, if player didn't give a movement input for some time. As I understand, what happens here is, the physics simulations sleeps when there is no movement of the vehicle and fails to wake up physics rigid bodies automatically when try to apply throttle later. So, we have to manually wake the rigid bodies of the chaos physics vehicle to get it move again. I'm gonna show you how to do that in this episode. A known Bug. When using Meshes as Foliage with Nanite enabled the Foliage will sporadically move on the Z axis. Making prototyping, testing and composites impossible. In this short video I go over a simple trick that can help you instantly improve your Unreal Engine performance and solve minor engine bugs. This is one of the most used tricks in Unreal Engine game development, and I personally do it all the time! List of Files/ Folders that are safe to delete: .vs/ .vscode (C Projects Only) Binaries (C Projects Only, will require a rebuild if deleted) DerivedDataCache Intermediate Saved (Move any needed logs and screenshots out first) .ignore (make sure it's not the gitignore or p4ignore file) .sln file/ code workspace file (or any other IDE file you may have) List of Things that you should NOT delete: Config (Holds all your settings) Content (Literally all of your projects content files) Plugins (If you have extra plugins they go here , plugins have their own intermediate folders) Source (C Projects Only, contains all your source code) Script .Uproject file #unrealengine #unreal #unrealengine5 #gamedev #gamedevelopment

... not really, but I wanted to share my thoughts on the topic as a game designer. I love Unreal Engine, but it has it's flaws or maybe the industry just does. Edit: Forspoken was not made in Unreal Engine 5, it's early prototypes were so sorry for the misinformation. You should subscribe if you want to hear more game design stuff later.

Here are the steps to reproduce the error: - Create blank with Starter Content C Project with UE 5.0.1 - Create a class MyActor - Drag and drop an instance of that class on the Minimal Default level/map/scene. - Save All - Exit UE5 - Open the project again and you will receive this error CreateExport: Failed to load Outer for resource 'StaticMesh': MyActor /Game/StarterContent/Maps/Minimal_Default.Minimal_Default:PersistentLevel.MyActor_1 - And the C class is lost from the assets folder, too. If you perform the same steps with UE4 , everything works as expected.

unreal crash and stuck a lot of times when we open the Unreal Engine Project, this problem with Unreal Engine problem was solved 100%, UE4 stuck at 39 percent, stuck at initializing 45 stuck at 39 initializing this all was because of compiling shaders and uses 100% of your CPU so you may see some lags if use your computer with another program. unreal engine stuck on initializing and specially if CPU are using unreal engine compiling shaders. UPDATE: The fix is in! Thanks to the incredibly masterful UE5 Code Ninja Hector Westcroft's tip, the Face Plant problem is solved. Turns out (as usual) that it was just one check box away from happiness. I literally spent 3 days troubleshooting this and there were several videos on YouTube discussing the problem without solution. So without delay....(drum roll please) the solution is to open the offending 'landing' video, go to 'Root Motion Settings' section and UNCHECK the box that says 'force root lock.' [cue heavenly chorus music] Any idea on how to fix this Genesis 8 Face Plant? I've tried looking in the AnimBP, Character Blueprint, etc. The landing animation had the character flat on it's back, so I rotated it correctly, key framed it - yet still no love.😮 I duplicated and retargeted the Manny animation blueprint and all the anims came out fine except for the landing one, which has the character face down. Even rotating the root of the character and key framing it does not fix the issue. I'm stumped.
